The Machine Intelligence and Robotics Center at IIIT-Bangalore is a center of excellence for conducting applied research in the use of artificial intelligence and robotics in different verticals, such as healthcare, smart cities, education.

The Centre for Data Sciences

Data ScienceAI Research

The Centre for Data Sciences in IIIT-Bangalore is a formal conglomeration of all the labs under the data sciences research domain, which takes care of overall activities at a higher hierarchical level of operation. This involves pooling in resources, conducting biannual student workshops, etc. 

Under the data science research domain, there are multiple labs which includes document engineering lab, graphics-computing-visualization laboratory (GVCL), information convergence lab, multimodal perception lab and web science lab (WSL).


Computational Science Laboratory

AI ResearchResearch Lab

Computational science laboratory at IIIT-Bangalore also undertakes the research and projects in the domain of ai and some of its major focus areas are approximation algorithms, machine learning, cryptography and linguistics. CSL also offers a course in machine learning.

Courses

IIIT-Bangalore, in collaboration with UpGrad, conducts following courses in domain on artificial intelligence and ML:


  • Post graduate program in machine learning and AI
  • Post graduate program in data science
  • These courses are of 11 months duration, delivered by IIIT-Bangalore faculties and leading industry experts from the AI/ML domain
  • These courses are through online more; however, it offers live industry projects, industry expert mentorship and offline meet-ups for learning.
  • It also offers a PG certificate course in data science, a six-month course with case studies and hands-on projects.
  • Also, the MTech programs in electronics and communications engineering (ESE) and computer science and engineering (CSE) also offers machine learning as an elective paper in their 2-year course.
